SERVICE DESIGN & DESIGN SPRINT
Snapdragon led a 3-day Design Sprint for Weight Watchers' SF-based UX team in 2018. The sprint was focused on service design, which bridged the mobile app's community and real-world support. The team was very large, so we brought in two facilitators and split into two groups to maximize ideation and output.
UX AUDIT & DESIGN STAFFING
AKi is a mobile ad technology company, headquartered in San Francisco, founded by two successful serial startup entrepreneurs. When they needed to improve the user experience of their ad management platform, they hired Snapdragon Strategy. We conducted a full audit of the platform and produced a detailed report with recommended improvements. We also provided a UX designer with ad management interface experience to step in and complete the suggested improvements.
Aki is a mobile ad technology company, headquartered in San Francisco. They wanted to move away from the identity they started with, which felt heavy and used colors the team had come to dislike. Snapdragon Strategy conducted a competitive brand review and quickly identified a strategy to stand out and be memorable. The new identity system was a big hit.
DESIGN RESEARCH & USER TESTING
Orchid's mission is to free the Internet using blockchain technology. As a pioneering team, they needed to understand the attitudes, habits, and desires of target users.
During the research phase, it was important to understand whether people would be receptive to their offering. Over several months and more than seven countries, we sourced, scheduled, interviewed, and tested the team's app design with dozens of participants. Our insights were distilled to concrete product improvements, design changes, and go-to-market strategies.
PERSONAS & CONTENT STRATEGY
As the first company of its kind, Orchid naturally had unique challenges. To explain the offering to a diverse global audience with different focal points required a lot of creativity. It was necessary to codify a language, identify the benefits understood by most people, and develop a content strategy for the application and supporting resources. We worked hard to create messaging around the intent, capabilities, and technology behind Orchid. This led to a UX word list, a UX writing guide, and style guidelines.
Over several months and more than seven countries, we also identified several new personas. A messaging strategy needed to work for every personas because users couldn't be identified; a distributed system can't store data or track information about users.

Often, our clients have everything they need to succeed, they just require the resources and support to deepen their sophistication and capacity in particular areas. Yeti is a San Francisco-based software design and development company. As an advisor, design executive, and coach, Shira supports Yeti's team as they push their clients to progress by leaps and bounds.
Shira has coached Yeti's designers, product managers, and front-end developers since 2017. She leads periodic workshops at Yeti on the Design Process, Effective Design Crits, Lean UX Research, Google Venture Design Sprints, Content Strategy, and Agile UX (i.e., Embedding Designers in Teams, Sprints, and Tasks).

As an in-demand SF app development shop, Yeti gets a lot of attention and requests to bid. For engagements requiring executive design leadership, we have contributed to proposals and client pitches.
