Shira Kates is the founding director of Snapdragon Strategy. She and her team of world-class researchers, designers, and developers help clients solve critical problems and ensure dozens of launches each year.
Ubiquitous brands, startups, and agency owners rely on Snapdragon for niche expertise in product and service design, workshop facilitation, design sprints, coaching, and leadership.
Shira has held roles as a coder, product manager, and global website producer at Autodesk. Following a decade of agency experience, Shira has founded two brand agencies and a design strategy consultancy.
Shira earned her MBA in Design Strategy at California College of the Arts. After completing the program, Shira took a role at Google, working with maps and immersive search teams as a UX content strategist and writer. Later, Shira joined Brightroll, an ad tech startup, as the Head of UX, where she led her team through acquisition at Yahoo.
Shira is passionate about supporting women and minorities in tech. She was honored to be invited to serve the US State Department as a professional mentor for the TechWomen program, based in Silicon Valley and Washington DC. She is also an active investor who helped launch The Granddaddy co-working cafe and wine bar in NYC.
